← Cable protection

Cable protection for the actual traffic

Channel count, clearance and crossing conditions matter more than tonnage alone.

Sources checked 11 September 2026.

Measure what goes in the channels

Record cable outside diameters and connector dimensions within the route. The lid must close without pressing on poorly positioned joints. Channel count is not the same as cable count.

A load rating includes an area

Defender MICRO 2 lists approximately 2 t over 20 × 20 cm. SLIM 5 lists 5 t over 25 × 30 cm. These are not permissions for any vehicle mass under any crossing condition.

Ground changes the conditions

Defender’s manual ties declared capacities to firm, level ground. Check the whole route, lid closure and movement of sections during use.

Can a protector sit on soft ground?

Do not assume the declared rating applies; obtain assessment of a suitable arrangement.

Must the lid close fully?

Yes. Closure is part of the system’s intended use.
