One universe
A DMX universe has 512 control channels. A fixture occupies as many consecutive channels as its selected mode requires. Its start address says where that block begins.
An eight-channel example
An eight-channel fixture starting at 1 uses 1–8. The next can start at 9. If the mode changes to 16 channels, recheck the patch. The console personality must match the fixture mode.
Try it before setup
The tool shows consecutive addresses for identical fixtures in one universe. It does not know an existing patch or the permitted receiver count on the physical line; check those separately.

Explore the principle
Give each fixture its own space
A sequential patch of identical fixtures in one universe. Existing assignments are not included.
Check fixture mode and personality, plus physical-line limits. This tool does not add another universe.
Two more useful answers
Can two fixtures share an address?
They can receive the same channels, but matching-mode fixtures then lack independent control.
Does RDM automatically resolve overlaps?
Do not assume so. Changing mode through RDM can increase the footprint.
