Choose a barrier for its role

Queue guidance and resisting crowd pressure are different tasks.

Sources checked 11 September 2026.

Define what you are separating

Belt posts help guide queues. A perimeter barrier separates areas. A front-of-stage barrier has a different role under crowd pressure. Similar appearance and height do not prove interchangeability.

Draw movement

Mark entrances, exits, queues, an accessible route and staff access. Check whether the end of a barrier creates a bottleneck or dead end. Equipment must support the crowd-management plan.

Involve the responsible team

Organisers, stewards and safety specialists should confirm the layout together. HSE provides useful UK crowd-management guidance; it is not presented here as Croatian law.

Two more useful answers

Can a belt replace a concert barrier?

No. Selection must suit the expected crowd forces.

Is a drawing enough?

No. Verify the layout on site and monitor it during use.
